No plate of fish & chips is complete without a drizzle of Sarsons’ Malt Vinegar. Sarsons vinegar has been a firm favourite for hundreds of years and isn’t just limited to fish & chips, can be used on any of your favourite dishes, or used to make sauces or marinades.
The vinegar was first brewed by Thomas Sarson in London, 1794, using malt barley. Today, over six million litres of vinegar are being brewed every day! It is incredibly popular with customers at our shop in Gothenburg, both Swedes and Brits.
It comes in a unique, teardrop shaped bottle which makes it stand out from competitors. Malt vinegar is less acidic than white vinegar, and a little bit sweeter. Since it is made from barley, the same grains used from making beer, it has some similar tastes to certain ales, and has been described as having ‘nutty, lemony and caramel flavours. It can also be used for pickling vegetables or marinating meat.
It is available from our shop in Gothenburg or can be ordered online for delivery to Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
